Each week, we take a look at the biggest friends and foes of labor. We celebrate the workers winning big and small battles, and we shame the companies or people trying to deny working people their rights.

Winners:Working people in Plainfield, N.J., after the city became the 30th place in the country to bypass an obstructionist Congress and require paid sick days for workers.

Runners-Up:Americans who work overtime, as 5 million more workers could be eligible for overtime pay, thanks to President Barack Obama's executive order.

Loser:Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder (R) who, while in Washington, D.C., dodged questions about the Flint water crisis as he was publicly being taken to task by Flint, Michigan, residents of all ages.

Runner-Up:Rep. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.), whose medical supply company was charged with underpaying workers, continuing his longstanding anti-labor record.
